This is the little trio in the city of Peñaranda de Duero. Noelle, Me, and Jordan.
Andrea, Noelle, me, and Jordan in front of the Peñaranda de Duero castle. No big deal or anything, it's just a pit stop on to bigger and better things.
Basically all of us were let loose as children to go and play on the castle and get our wiggles out because we are a little antsy after being on a bus for about 90 minutes... I sometimes think we are being baby sat for 2 months instead of just going to school...
The Gorgeous tower of the castle. I'm in love with castles and I love how we are allowed to just freely explore these gorgeous buildings.
Just exploring the tiny town of Santodomingos de Silos. Litterally the tiniest city we have been in yet. We walked every street in about 20 minutes. and there was a green door, so naturally we took a picture in front of it. Noelle, Jordan, Katie, and Andrea
Literally, in the middle of Nowhere! But gorgeous! I love the country!
On top of the hill at Santodomingos de Silos. just a tad bit windy. But quite a lovely view.
We walked through the narrows of Spain. There was a constructed pathway because underneath that there was a large river flowing through. It was great to be hiking again. Too bad it only took about 15 minutes in total. It's called La Yecla just outside of Santodomingos de Silos. Super Great!
This is the main plaza of Covoarrubias. As you can tell, it was in the middle of nowhere from the lack of people walking about the main plaza. There is a church that we visited... however, Profe told us to get up and leave and so I exited the building. There are about 6 of us sitting there waiting for everyone for 15 minutes. Finally we decided to go back and find out where they went and they had disappeared... apparently they went on some special tour that took them to all the locked off places of the Old Church (Antigua iglesia)...
Messing around outside the church while waiting aimlessly for the rest of the group still unsure of where they might be.
KEBABS IN LEON!! Super delicious! They're like pita pockets stuffed with thick slices of meat (beef and chicken) served with frysauce and lettuce... sometimes they have frenchfries in them too. They're on every corner in Spain! Josh, Katie, Logan, Jordan, Noelle
Just walking to the Cathedral in Burgos.
The Burgos Cathedral. Absolutely Gorgeous and Huge and Ornate! And I love it!
A view from the inside of the Burgos Cathedral.
The Cathedral of Leon. All lit up at night. We were told that at midnight they switch the lights; The outside is all lit up until midnight and then they turn off while the bells of the tower are ringing and then the lights on the inside turn on and you can see the stained glass all lit up. So at midnight they turn off and we're the only ones in the square... and slowly but surely the dim lights from inside kind of light up the stained glass... a little bit of a let down from what we ere expecting ha but still absolutely gorgeous sight!
This is the castle in Coca. It has been turned into a school for the kids here and we got to tour it a bit. We went up on a tower and got to see the grand tiny city (once again in the middle of nowhere) of Coca. This is Jordan and Katie.
So my feet are there hanging in a chute... we decided this is where they had boiling cauldrons of Lava to dump on intruders it's a straight drop down for about 100+ meters. so just a little terrified for my life right there. Later I got yelled at in Spanish by the tour guide for climbing in places that had extreme drop offs... supposedly she was joking, but sarcasm is a whole other language to learn in another language. Oops.
VIVA ESPANA!!!
stop being so cute. and stop breaking the rules...you never know when that lava could start flowing! Love you!!!
